To be successful with affiliate marketing it is is highly important that you get targeted traffic. In other words, people who are interested in seeking whatever information or products you sell get to your site.

It is only these poeple who are likely to buy stuff from you. Here are some of the most effective techniques that can ensure targeted free traffic to your site:

1. Blogs

Blogging is the most effective ways to let people know what you specialize in. Blogs are very easy to build. You can start with a WordPress blog, just like the one you are reading right now or you can start with other blogging platforms such as Blogger or Typepad.

However, what is important is that the posts you can make to this blog must contain information that is relevant to your niche and is useful for your reader.

For instance, if your blog is about fishes, then you can write about all kinds of fresh water fishes, how to put them in an aquarium, how to feed them etc.

Once your article is written and proofread, you can start submitting it to article sites. Be sure to read their terms, each site’s policies are a little different. I personally start with ezinearticles.com and wait for them to approve my article first. They are one of the best sites on the web and they are very particular about duplicate content. From there you can submit to the rest. I suggest just using the top 10 or 15 sites.

There are many softwares that submit your artciles to hundreds and thousands of artcile directories, but if you submit ot afew top directories it is worth the effort.

These are just a few ideas to get you started in generating free traffic to your affiliate product. There are many other methods available, some of them effective, some not so much. The more creative you can get the better you can do. Just remember to start doing something and to stick with it.
